Intuitive Design of Experiments (DoE)DoE as an investigational strategy that aims to design the most economical experiments for the purpose of obtaining empirical knowledge, i.e. knowledge gained from the system under investigation and not on theoretical models. It is most usefully applied in the first steps of large problem solving projects or for improving existing process or product performance. Recognised as one of the most effective strategies for investigating complex problems, DoE has experienced higher acceptance recently from initiatives such as Design for Six Sigma (DFSS) and Quality by Design (QbD). When used in conjunction with The Unscrambler®’s multivariate data analysis routines, this improves the power and value of DoE. |
