WSC-7

extract from WSC-7

The seventh winter symposium on chemometrics took place in the suburbs of St. Petersburg 15-19 February 2010. The conference was also this year supported by CAMO Software.

43 persons took part in the pre-conference introductory school to chemometrics organized by the WSC-7 committee, and reports tell that this course was very successful.

The CAMO award for the most active school participant went to Evgeniy Abramov from the Faculty of Biology and Soil Science at Saint-Petersburg State University, while Anna Shelpakova from the Chemical Department at Omsk State University won the second price.

The award for the best poster presentations was split between Alexander Dmitriev from the Physical Department at Altai State University for his poster: "Analysis of MRI images of a brain of patients with dementia using multivariate approach", and Olga Derkachova from Saint Petersburg State Technological University of Plant Polymers and her poster: “Application of chemometrics method and constant stoichiometry groupings concept to the Raman spectra of lead metaphospate — TeO2 glasses”.

Alexander Dmitriev: Co-Winner, Best Poster Award
